Memory Foam is not a good foam material for those who weight over 250 lbs and so we have researched and found a very comparable foam alternative.

We combine state-of-the-art VITA Velvatex Foam with Premium VITA Ultra Cell High Resiliency Foam to make the world’s most comfortable bariatric mattress for obese people. Velvatex Foam has the same resiliency and durability as Latex, yet it is odorless, non allergenic and can be recycled. It has the added support and extra comfort needed for a bariatric bed for over weight people. This bed can be used as a set with our extra durable foundation or as a mattress on a bariatric hospital bed. All our beds and their components are proudly manufactured in the USA. 

The Comfort Max 400 bed for over weight people has a 10" profile that includes 5" of super-deluxe Velvatex Foam and 5" of VITA Ultra Cell foam which translates into an exceptionally comfortable plus-size bed for our wonderful plus-size customers!!

The Comfort Max 400 for Over Weight People Has These Excellent Features:

• Soft, Stretchable Terry Cotton-blend Mattress Cover that "gives" during sleep, allowing the sleeper to be properly, yet gently supported by the Velvatex Foam Support cushioning.
• A Plush 5" Layer of Velvatex Foam that provides 15% more foam than many competing 8" models. Velvatex Foam is a superior latex alternative that provides superior comfort, unmatched durability, and exceptional resiliency. This mattress can be used on a bariatric hospital bed.
• Firmer overall edge support allowing for easier entry and exit from the bed. This translates into a more effortless sleep experience essential for the health of obese people*.
• VITA Ultra Cell High Resiliency Base Foam, a high-performance, highly resilient, flexible urethane support base foam. Compared to conventional foams with the same density, Ultra Cell has higher support and comfort factors, and a greatly improved fatigue resistance. It will not bottom out or dish, the perfect base foam in a bed for over weight people.
• Heavy-Duty Foundation, solid and covered in luxurious serpentine quilted cotton terry cloth.

Construction of the Comfort Max 400 Mattress – The Specialty Bariatric Mattress for Overweight People (300–400 lbs):

• Top Layer: 5" 4lb VITA Velvatex Latex-like Foam with a 40 IFD compression. This layer of latex-like foam provides gentle cushioning to the upper and middle torso. As gravity draws the sleeper into the mattress, the VITA Velvatex foam senses the weight of the whole body and provides subtle, yet consistent resistance as the sleeper transitions into the next support layer. The extra support provided in this surface layer is essential in a bed for overweight people, especially obese people*. Pressure points are reduced as well as a reduction in contraction of the capillaries. Tossing and turning is lessened or eliminated, allowing for a deeper, more healthful sleep. Obese people will find their sleep to be much improved.
• Second Layer (Support Layer) consists of 5" of VITA Ultra Cell High Resiliency Base Foam. This ultra-premium polyurethane foam is predominately found in designer furniture. We use this premium foam in our bariatric mattresses to help maintain spinal alignment, night after night,helping to reduce back aches as one enjoys a more nourishing sleep. This purpose-engineered bed for obese people and can be used on a bariatric heavy duty hospital bed.
• The 9" DuraLife Foundation is the same as the Tempur Pedic model, made of kiln dried, yellow southern pine. The foundation is covered in matching serpentine channel quilted cotton velour. Competing models typically do not quilt the foundation cover.

Warranty

We do not offer our usual 30 day trial on the Comfort Max 400 because this is essentially a custom made mattress. But we offer our standard warranty on the Comfort 400.

We supply free curbside shipping on all Comfort Max Mattress orders. See our shipping page for details.

Our White Glove Shipping Upgrade will deliver your new mattress and foundation to your home, unpack and place it in your bedroom. The local delivery agent will call ahead to arrange a convenient delivery time. When you order, please let us know if there will be any stair-carry or elevator lift to your residence or bedroom (additional fees may apply). Note that will be necessary to have your bed frame empty and ready for delivery. Shipping boxes and packaging will all be removed, unless you specifically request the driver to leave them. Our usual shipping time from date of ordering is 2-3 weeks. White Glove service may add one week to that time. So, White Glove shipping will take from 2-4 weeks. Normally, we will deliver your Comfort Max Mattress Set within 2 to 3 weeks after receiving your order. (Tempurpedic will take 30 days to ship a new mattress.) Why wait? Before buying also be sure to also read our warranty page.

Note on Cancellations:
You have a 24 hour grace period to cancel your bed order. Our mattresses ship very promptly, so any cancellations after 24 hours may be subject to a $250 cancellation fee. After 24 hours your mattress is most likely already on its way to you. The $250 deduction is to cover the return shipping. It will be deducted from your payment refund.
