You have selected which of our two Leggett Platt adjustable bed frames will suite your needs: The Optima with all its many massage and adjustable beds features or the Profile which is the more economical of the two adjustable beds. Now it is time to choose your adjustable bed mattress.

How do you choose one adjustable bed mattress over another? Many mattresses are not suitable with adjustable bed frames. To give some examples of this: You don’t want a mattress with too high of a profile. Adjustable beds move up and down and you want a mattress with flexibility that will move up and down in unison with the adjustable frame. A mattress with a profile of 12 inches or less will be suitable. Our Optima adjustable bed frames are massage beds and so you don’t want a mattress with too high a profile for that reason also. The massage mechanism in these massage beds needs to be felt and so you don’t want a mattress that is too thick.  For this reason it is good to select a mattress with a profile of 12 inches or less. The third important consideration is that you will need a mattress that is not too stiff. For this reason you would not want an innerspring mattress. Memory foam mattresses are ideal for adjustable bed frames and especially a memory foam mattress with a profile of 12 inches or less. Memory foam mattresses have the flexibility necessary to move with the adjustable bed frames motion and in addition the massage beds’ mechanisms can easily be felt through the foam. In addition memory foam mattresses are extremely comfortable and only enhance an adjustable beds many luxurious features.
