Are you trying to find the right mattress so you can sleep better? Which is better, a firm or a soft matress? Well, there’s no medical evidence to prove one is better than the other. It all comes down to your personal preference. However, when shopping for a matress it can be rather shocking because of the price tag. Prices for some name brand mattress like Avery Boardman Ltd and VI-Spring start at $7,700 and go up to as much as $16,200. The catch is we spend approximately half our time sleeping so having a comfortable mattress is essential. With standard quilted, spring-loaded matresses it can be difficult to find one that ‘fits’ you well. All memory foam matresses and memory foam matress pads come in different thicknesses and densities. In general the more you weigh, the more dense the foam should be. For all the rest of us… if you want a soft matress you should order a lower density, like 4 lb density and if you want it really plush you should order a 5 lb 4 inch memory foam matress pad. If you want it to be a little more firm you should order a 4 lb 3 inch memory foam mattress pad. It’s really quite simple compared to standard mattress and box spring sets.
