These Minimalist Wooden Beds and Futon Bed Frames don’t require a foundation or box spring and that is what makes this wood bed frame so perfect for use with a futon, or any type of mattress. Slatted platform bed frames have been popular in Germany, and throughout Europe, for decades and are now being offered more widely in the USA. A simple slatted platform bed frame is very supportive, offering both ventilation and flex. If you would like an unfinished totally basic bed frame, you can order yours with no finish applied. In this case the craftsmanship and finishing detail will be the same, but the Pure Natural Linseed Oil Finishes would not be applied.

These Natural Wood Bed Frames are available in Twin, TwinXL, Full, Queen, Eastern King, and California King sizes, in your choice of Oak, Maple, or Bamboo. Most of these fine, sustainable woods can be ordered untreated, or treated with a Natural Light Danish Linseed Oil finish or Natural Dark Danish Linseed Oil finish and are hand-rubbed to perfection. All of our Bed Frame finishes are pure, and free of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and Heavy Metal Drying Agents.
These natural Minimalist Wooden Bed Frames are available as platform beds (Futon Bed Frames) or for use with a box spring or foundation. Please specify your mattress height online at the time of checkout.
Each of our Sustainable Minimalist Wooden Bed Frames is built with care and attention to detail. From start to finish, each piece of wood is repeatedly inspected, and handled over 250 times. Only the finest sustainable natural hardwoods are used, ensuring that every new Wooden Futon Bed Frame is strong, durable, and resistant to nicks and scratches. Natural hard woods are known to be stronger, last longer, and be more resistant to nicks, dents, and scratches, than soft woods. Hard wood is used in all fine furniture construction.
Laminated Bamboo is an extremely beautiful and sustainable wood that is known for its strength and ability to flex under loading. This makes it an ideal wood for furniture, although more care needs to be taken to protect it from nicks and scratches. All of our sustainable natural wood furniture is also built with secure, easy to assemble joints between different bed sections. This makes for quick assembly and disassembly, and creates a strong and handsome Wooden Bed Frame free of external hardware.
Customize Your Wooden Futon Bed Frame
Customization is also available, but must be special ordered. Should you or your partner happen to weigh over 240 lbs, these platform bed frame sets can also be outfitted with more slats or with heavyweight slats to accommodate the added weight. As well, each bed set automatically comes with one center support, or two center supports in the case of King and California King sizes. An additional support leg may also be added. The standard platform height off the floor is 12" (or 9" in the case of a mattress plus foundation configuration). If you would like your bed to be lower off the floor or higher we can also customize this for you. In addition, we offer expedited production time with a 5 business day turn around. Minimalist Wooden Beds and Futon Bed Frames will ship by UPS or FedEx Ground, and will be sent separately from other items you may order. Once an item ships, you will be receiving shipping confirmation and tracking information as long as we have a valid email address. Please note that although we make every effort to pack and ship every item securely, you must inspect the boxes and your new Solid Wood Bed Frame for any damages that might have occurred during shipping. If an item happens to be damaged and not acceptable to you, do not accept delivery and notify us immediately.
