High Density Foams – How do they compare?

Many memory foams, being open-celled in structure, do tend to soften or even flatten somewhat over time, depending on usage and body weight. Why? Because the air trapped inside the foam cells isn't sealed inside the way the air is sealed in your car's tires. Instead, the cell walls are open and the foam more breathable, trapping less body heat and providing a cooler feel during sleep than a comparable closed-cell foam.

As a notable exception, higher density memory foams, which actually have more foam and less air in them than softer foams, maintain their integrity and memory foam feel for a significantly longer time.  We can also include Latex foam amoung the possible dense foam choices. Latex foam is usually quite dense and is known for its premium orthopedic support.

Sensus®, a moderately dense but softer luxurious 5 lb memory foam, combines a uniquely soft yet firm feel with the support and integrity of a higher density foam product. We recommend the 2 inch and 3 inch thicknesses, unless you are particularly heavy. If you weigh more than 200 lbs you might want to consider a 4 inch thick profile. Note: Ultimate 8 dense memory foam toppers are cut slightly smaller (1 inch smaller) than standard mattress sizes so that your sheets will still fit properly. Boxed weights for Ultimate 8 Memory Foam Toppers are heavy, ranging from 30 to 60 lbs. When handling or moving your dense toppers, please use care. It will help to support with a sheet or zippered cover to prevent damage. Special zippered topper enclosures are available upon request. Our cotton mattress covers are not zippered covers and fit over both the topper and mattress. They are held in place with a deep elasticized skirt. These covers will be shipped in a separate box and may not arrive on the same day.

Shipping, Delivery and Returns:
We expedite all Mattress Toppers orders. If you order by noon (EST) we will ship your order the following weekday – no need to wait weeks for delivery. Ultimate 8  high density toppers, however, may take an extra day or two to prepare for shipment. When your toppers are shipped you will receive email notification of the shipping date, tracking number, and estimated date of arrival at your home. We offer this service whether you order by phone, fax or e-mail; all we need is a correct e-mail address at the time of your order.

We offer free shipping for orders within the USA, but also accept orders from international destinations. Please call for a shipping quote.
We are pleased to offer a 30-night trial period with your new topper. If you wish to return the topper, just call within 30 days for return authorization. Then return the product in good condition and in its original packaging. We will promptly refund the purchase price. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
