Memory Foam Review
What is memory foam?
Memory foam is a special type of foam that conforms to the contour of your body and helps improve circulation, reduces pressure points, and spinal pressure. Originally developed by NASA, memory foam was used to keep its astronauts comfortable even during times of increased G-Forces. This heat activated foam provides the perfect amount of support for your body.
Tempur-Pedic made memory foam a household phrase, but it is all the same. Tempur-Pedic is nothing but a brand and is essentially the same material; memory foam is memory foam. Our memory foam is very comparable to Tempur-Pedic; the only difference being brand and price.
Difference between mattresses and toppers
You may be wondering what the difference between memory foam mattresses and memory foam toppers. Toppers simply lay on top of any mattress; giving that mattress that unique memory foam feel. A memory foam mattress provides a memory foam surface and mattress all in one set. Some people prefer the toppers, and some prefer the mattresses. Either way, there are pros and cons, so give this a thought before making your final decision.
Different densities and height
There are several different densities of memory foam — ranging from 2lb to 5lb. The higher the density, the more the foam conforms to the body. Another important thing to look at when selecting that perfect memory foam product is the height. From our own memory foam reviews and selling for several years, we have found that 2 inches provides effective comfort but this is different for all users. The heavier the person, the more height you want in your memory foam.
Indentation Force Deflection (IFD)
IFD is the hardness or softness of a given memory foam. It is calculated by the pounds of force it takes to indent 4 inch thick foam 25% of its thickness. Many sellers do not currently provide this information, but at Absolute Comfort on Sale, we are providing this information as it becomes available for our foam products.
Memory foam will not only give you a better night’s sleep, but it will also help heal those common “slept on the wrong side of the bed” pains. Hopefully this review has not only given you enough information to make a final decision for your perfect memory foam product but also helped you clear up those common misconceptions about memory foam.
