To be effective a memory mattress pad only needs to be 2" thick. Chances are you don't weigh enough to benefit from a 4 inch mattress pad. If you are a larger person you will still benefit from a 2" memory mattress pad but you may be better off with a 3" or 4" mattress pad. In our research we have found that a nice middle ground is the 3" memory mattress pad. This mattress pad will be great for almost everyone. The thickness is just right for people of all sizes to benefit from the memory properties of the foam.

A second factor to think about when picking the right memory mattress pad is the density. Density is measured by how much 1 cubic foot of the foam will weigh. A density rating of 5 pounds is firmer than a memory mattress pad with a density rating of 4 pounds. The 5 pound is the densest memory mattress pad we sell. While it is the most expensive, it is not the right fit for everyone. Most people feel that the 5 pound mattress pad is too firm. We have found that the best memory mattress pad is the 4 pound density. It has the perfect combination of support and cushioning.
