Foamex L.P. was the former foam division of the Firestone Tire & Rubber
Company. Three regional producers were acquired in 1988. Then in
1990 Foamex L.P. was formed as a result of the contribution of
North American foam assets from Recticel S.A., which was Europe's
largest manufacturer of foam. Foamex bought out Great Western Foam,
a major foam producer on the west coast, and General Felt Industries,
a carpet cushioning producer and distributor on the east coast
in 1993. Foamex also became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ
in 1993. Foamex continued expanding in 1994 by acquiring TEFSA,
a foam manufacturer in Mexico. In 1995, Foamex developed it's first
Variable Pressure Foam line of products. Foamex then came together
with Recticel, a European polyurethane manufacturer, to design
and sell products for the automotive industry. In 1996, Foamex
expanded its international market by opening an Asian division.
Then in 2001 Foamex expanded its Variable pressure Foaming line
by acquiring Crain Holdings Corporation and opening manufacturing
plants in Cornelius, N.C. and Auburn, IN.

VPF(SM) is the most environmentally friendly process for the manufacture of polyurethane foam worldwide.
